History
Ricciardi Seafoods & Coldstores is a second generation family business that began in Fremantle in 1986 as a fresh fish shop and local seafood supplier. Its founder, Natale Ricciardi, immigrated to Western Australia in the 1950's and made his living as a full-time fisherman. He began crayfishing in Fremantle and in the off season, he would venture north to Shark Bay to catch snapper and other fish. In the early 1960’s Natale began fishing prawns in the Shark Bay region and helped to pioneer and develop the viable and commercial Prawn Trawl Fishery it has become today.
The company’s success has been due to its strong work ethic, a vision for the future and a desire to produce premium quality seafood. Its fishing vessels have been amongst the top catchers, producing premium quality prawns. The company has relocated to its current premises which have superior processing facilities as well as large coldstorage capacity. This ensures its brand of "Premium Seafoods" is maintained at the highest level.
With this heritage, Ricciardi Seafoods has grown to become a major wholesaler and exporter of Shark Bay prawns, supplying countries in both Europe and Asia, as well as domestic markets locally and in the Eastern States.
